Multiple updates and changes have been made to the Volkswagen Passat for the 2018 model year. The newest version of this car will feature a new standard engine that delivers even better performance. But the Volkswagen Passat is more than just a powerful engine. This car delivers an added level of refinement and comfort that very few competitors can match. A new engine will now be powering the 2018 Passat. Standard equipment will now include a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This engine checks in at 174 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. In addition to this base engine, the Passat will also offer a 3.6-liter V-6 engine. This engine produces 280 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.

2018 Volkswagen Passat Trim Levels and Fuel Economy Ratings

Fuel economy ratings for the 2018 Passat will vary based on the engine options selected. The base four-cylinder engine earns up to 25 miles per gallon in the city and 36 miles per gallon on the highways. The V-6 engine is rated at 19 miles per gallon in the city and 28 miles per gallon on the highways.

In addition to the two engine options, the 2018 Passat will be offered in six trim levels: S, R-Line, SE, SE with Technology, GT and SEL Premium. Each trim level offers an impressive roster of features and technology systems.
